The set combines an automatic center punch and a scribe for preparing marks before machining. The center punch creates an indentation when pressed against the handle, without the use of a hammer; the depth of the mark is adjusted with the top screw. Its tip is replaceable and can be reground. The scribe has a carbide tip for marking hard materials such as hardened steel, glass, or ceramics. On the opposite end of the handle there is a magnet for retrieving small ferromagnetic objects from hard-to-reach places.
