A flat hand chisel designed for working stone. With a length of 400 mm, it has a cutting edge 28 mm wide and an octagonal body 20 mm thick. It is made from air-hardening chrome-vanadium steel in accordance with DIN 7254 B. Both the cutting edge and the body are hardened, tempered and lacquered; a separately tempered striking head limits the formation of burrs and spalling during strikes. The cutting edge can be repeatedly re-ground wet without subsequent loss of temper.
